The Cash Grabs

09/04/2009: Greetings, old friends! It's official: The Cash Grabs album is all finished and done up pretty just in time for the band's cross Canada tour. The album can be purchased online for an even $7 (see sidebar on right) or directly from the band if you can catch them on tour, which I highly recommend. See the Cash Grabs MySpace page for tour info and to sample some fantastic songs from the album. -Brodie

03/07/2008: The time has come again for Bobby Alan (and the Plant World Communicators) to rock your socks* off. I would recommend listening barefoot as these six and a half masterfully crafted tracks will ensure that you end up that way after just one listen through. Dig it. -Brodie

04/23/2007: I apologize for the lack of updates lately. The move to Victoria went ok. As fun as any move I suppose. The amount of free time I have to spend on things that I enjoy, such as this label, has been cut drastically since I've had to find a "real" job. I'm starting to adapt somewhat but still I really miss my old job and schedule. But alas! There is good news, and it comes in the form of the release of "Brother Bill - Twsited & Gnarled". This is really quite a stellar debut album from multi-instrumentalist Bill Crosson. It's really got some beautiful tracks. As always you can score a copy from right here on the website or from me or Bill himself. Check out the store or mp3s sections for some samples. Also on the store page I've uploaded "in the data centre - in finite time" in it's entirety as a free download. -Brodie

02/13/2007: For your listening discomfort, I present to you: "in the data centre - in finite time." This is the second batch of songs I recorded on the night shift late last summer, along with one song and some updates that I recorded last month. Track 8 I even recorded while laying on the floor under my desk. While I find these to be an improvement on the first batch of data centre songs, they were still written and recorded spontaneously for the most part. There are a couple tracks from this cd in the mp3s section. -Brodie

01/31/2007: Whew, no updates in almost two months. Tsk tsk, shame on me. I'm in the middle of planning a move so I haven't gotten as much done lately with the label as I'd like, but don't worry, I have been doing some "behind the scenes" work. Releases releases releases. There's four of them in the works. I recorded one more data centre track and did some touch-ups, so that's mostly done and will be released (with minimal-promotion, as per itdc tradition) soon. Jake is in the midst of sending me the last bit of artwork for the new Bobby Alan EP; which I've been enjoying for some time now, and let me tell you it is stellar. Also soon-to-be released is Brother Bill's debut album, titled "twisted & gnarled". This album has a vintage feel to it and I absolutely love it. It's got some killer style. Also I think I'm turning the Posting Angst "into the sun" EP into a full-length by adding some songs I recorded this last November & December. I haven't decided if this album will have a new title or not. And last in news but not least, I'd like to welcome The Floating Beans as the newest addition to the label. These girls can rock! Check out their myspace page for some killer tracks, and if you're in Kamloops be sure to see them live! Word has it that Bobby Alan himself is rocking the Bass guitar along side these beans. That's it for now. -Brodie

Posting Angst - Morning the Night-Time

12/03/2006: I've got a couple more reviews posted in the press section. One for the Skürble Frabnöss cd and a mini-review for the Posting Angst cd. -Brodie

11/20/2006: Here's a quick update to let everyone know what's going on here with the Create crew (so to speak). First, I'd like to officially welcome Jenna Smallbird (aka Jenna Ewert) to the label. Jenna has had plans to release some music since shortly after the inception of Create, and has just recently begun recording. She is very talented and I'm quite looking forward to releasing some of her music. Check her out here on MySpace. In other news Brother Bill has settled into Smithers for the winter to build some instruments (yes, he is crazy like that) and finish up his album. This one will be super stellar so watch out for that in the upcoming months. Jake Daly (of Bobby Alan fame) is currently in Europe, but should be back in Canada soon for further rocking. His 7-song EP "Fall off the Barn Again" is mostly complete, but is just waiting for me to get into gear to finish the layout and get manufacturing the thing. Watch out for that rockin' album soon. And finally, I'm finishing up the Posting Angst EP titled "into the sun", which will include a track that features Brother Bill on the slide guitar. -Brodie

Posting Angst - Morning the Night-Time

I've fixed the store so that you can order more than one cd at a time, and also changed all the "buy now" buttons to "add to cart" buttons. There is a new mp3 up from the Bobby Alan cd called "Hummingbird". This song rocks so check it out. Also, be on the lookout for a 7 song EP from Bobby Alan and the Plant World Communicators. If by some chance your socks are still on after you hear "Steal Your Car", this new cd will be sure to rock them right off. -Brodie

Posting Angst - Morning the Night-Time

10/03/2006: Exit from Insanity has been reviewed in UNBC's Over the Edge student newspaper. So if you don't want to take my word for it, check out this review in the new press section. Watch out for Bobby Alan and the Kibosh Kids, coming very soon! Also, I somehow forgot to credit Jeff Creber in the Posting Angst cd, who plays the cellphone feedback on track 1 of Morning the Night-time. -Brodie

in the data centre

06/04/2006: Over my past few graveyard shifts at work I recorded some songs using my keyboard, guitar, and some "drums" I made out of whatever I could find laying around. The result will soon be released as a 13 track cd called "in the data centre". It is near ready, but I'll be going on holidays for a week starting on the 10th, so expect a release some time during the week of the 19th-23rd. Check out the mp3's section for a preview. Party! -Brodie

Rock and/or Roll!

Rock and/or Roll!
04/13/2006: Tuesday's Four Piece Suit show was most excellent. Huuuge thanks to Bill on this one. I recorded it and may make it available for download for anyone who missed it but would like to hear. I'll have to check with Bill on that one first though. There's a new mp3 up by the Kamloops rockers "How Long Have We Had". These wee high-schooligans have only been jamming for a couple months now and are already rocking along quite nicely. Keep an eye on them. Also, be sure to check out the message board and get posting! I can only have so many conversations with myself. -Brodie
Rock and/or Roll!
04/11/2006: The 17 track Sampler, titled "Rock and/or Roll!" is nearly complete. Watch for an official release, as well as the opening of the online store, around the 24th of this month. Also, you may get a preview of a few tracks from the sampler if you tune in tonight at 8PM Pacific to Bill Crosson's excellent show "The Four Piece Suit" on the Kamloops TRU radio station. That's 92.5FM in Kamloops or you can listen online at The X, 92.5 Website. Rock! -Brodie
Paper Lanterns
04/03/2006: There are a couple Paper Lanterns shows coming up that everyone everywhere should definately make note of. It makes me sad to see this great band have to end. Although, I am able to get some joy knowing I'll be able to bask in the afterbirth of the new musical projects that have yet to be created by these fine dudes. The shows take place in Vancouver on the 21st and 24th of this month. For details see the Paper Lanterns MySpace Page. There will also be a couple tracks from this group on the soon-to-be released Create Sampler, so watch out for that! Shananaa! -Brodie

04/02/2006: The Compilation is coming together, I just need to get ahold of a few more artists to ensure I have permission to include their music in the Sampler. You can expect it to be available for no more than $2 or $3 if not free, as it's purpose will be primarily to attract attention to the many super-terrific artists featured on the disc. Rock and Roll! -Brodie
brodie01.jpg

03/31/2006: The site has been available to the public for only 1 day and already the critics are raving:

"Create Records is coming out with the freshest sounds in the industry today" - Bill Crosson

and perhaps even more accurate is this:

"One of the newest labels of all time" - Eric Axen

Pretty good I'd say considering we're awaiting our first release. The store is mostly ready but I won't put it online until there's actually something there to buy, which should be soon. The compilation will be ready fairly quickly and should see some airtime on the Kamloops TRU radio station for starters. -Brodie

brodie01.jpg
03/30/2006: The Message Board is up and working so be sure to check that out and sign up! Also the Posting Angst release is very near and I hope to have a compilation ready within the next few weeks. -Brodie
